Meet Our Executive Team

James Gatheru

Founder and Managing Director

Consumed with the burning desire to let the world know the secrets of Masai Mara and Kenya at large, leaving the lucrative accounting job was easy for James.

He is the founder of AjKenyaSafaris.com Ltd and is the driving force behind the high rating of this company on TripAdvisor. Born in Central Kenya, he is skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate about safaris and saw the need to provide Indian travelers with affordable packages suited for their needs.

James loves the ocean, finding it therapeutic, and one of his favorite past times is watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean. He sees the wild savannah as fascinating, and observing wild animals run free ‘frees his spirit'.

Ayanna Kristine

Human Resource Manager

A client-turned-team member, travel was always at the back of her mind. She never truly knew it was what she needed until David Kariuki, our senior safari guide, invited her for a tour around the country. Years later, she hasn't looked back.

Kristine does her work with so much passion and dedication you'd be star-struck. She has been involved with nearly 500 safaris in her field of work, an experience she credits for her high knowledge-ability.

She loves nights around the campfire at Masai Mara and romantic walks along the shores of the Indian Ocean.

Peter Kariuki

Senior Safari Guide/Leader

Henry is quite knowledgeable about Kenya, having visited every corner of the country in his position as a safari leader. He is witty and engaged, often anticipating the needs of his clients while on safari.

He shares his knowledge with much enthusiasm, bringing an element of fun to every trip. Henry loves the Masai Mara and finds it magical, but insists that magic is hiding in every corner of Kenya.

Henry Kuria

Senior Accountant

He’s not one to engage in small talk, so he lets his math do the talking instead. Peter has been our accountant guy for the longest time, a job he has done with so much honesty and dedication. He is, you can say, the man in charge of the dough. The prices on our itineraries are all his doing, so you now know who to blame in case of an overcharge…which never happens.

“I see the world in numbers, so, in a sense, you could say that I have traveled. But yes, I do enjoy traveling. I loved the company’s trip to Mombasa last year.”

Lynette Kangethe

Travel Specialist

Travel comes as easy as breathing to Lynette, in her own words, a necessity invented by Kenya's magnificence. She has, since she can remember, enjoyed traveling around the world, a passion that saw her leave her six-figure salary in the corporate world.

Her zeal, love for travel, and attention to detail have seen her quickly rise the ranks in the many years she has been with us.

As a field person, you will likely encounter Lynn in the Mara plains or the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. It is her lively, easy-to-talk-to personality, however, that makes this her such a sport.

Loise Muriithi

Travel Consultant

Loise has only been with us for over four years, but she has somehow managed to steal all our hearts at the office. She has the kind of laugh that fills up the lungs. The kind that will have you laughing just because she is laughing.

Her bubbly personality, perhaps, but we all suspect she knows a secret to life we don't. She is involved with planning your safaris and itineraries. She is the one that responds to your emails, phone, and Whatsapp calls and makes adjustments to trips as per your request.

She loves the view of the Masai Mara from up the hot-air balloons and would, in her words, sell a kidney to visit the Bahamas.

David Kariuki

IT Guy/Safari Guide

He knew from the age of 8 that he wanted to spend the rest of his life on tour vans introducing the rest of the world to Kenya's beauty. Twenty-three years later, he is still at it.

Dedicated and energetic, David is the guy to have on that safari vehicle. He describes travel as a calling he gives his all to, which is a reasonable enough explanation as to why the guy has Kenya at his fingertips.

He promises fun and lots of excitement on safaris with him. Likes? The Hell's gate national park and the Nairobi safari park. David also doubles as our IT guy.

Judy Wambui

Senior Travel Consultant/ Travel Specialist

Every company has its Athena. We found ours in Judy. She is a travel consultant and specialist tasked with helping you choose and organize your holidays.

Her management skills are top-notch as well as her discipline and dedication to work. Ask anything about traveling into the country, and she will tell you… she is that good.

She has been with us for four years, and we take full responsibility for her efficacy (insert smiley face). She likes to take long drives to nowhere when not in the office. It helps her unwind.

Felicia Kamikazi

Tour Consultant

Her steadfast resolve and commitment are among her many strong suits, but her attention to detail makes this gem stand out. Felicia has been diligent in the two years she has been a safari consultant with us, which we know from our highly positive customer reviews.

She says she doesn't mind spending the rest of her days on her computer, for she receives so much joy from giving it to others. She does, however, indulge in the thrills of travel.

The Kenyan coast, Mt. Kenya and Masai Mara are some of her favorites.

Albert Muriuki

Travel Consultant

You will never see a man who speaks as passionately about his country as Albert does. Albert started early in the business in 2017, seeing him work as an intern with a reputable travel company in Botswana, where he hails.

He later quit his side job, concentrating fully on what he now describes as his true love, travel consultancy. Count on him to take you to destinations where the game is at its highest and the scenery is grandest. .

Do you know what else you can expect from him? The liveliest, most exciting tour safari. He loves the view of Mt. Kilimanjaro from Amboseli and long quiet night walks on the streets of Nairobi.

Gladys

Customer Service

She is that sweet hello behind our telephone line, a job she has executed perfectly for the four years she has been with us. We know that a kind face goes a long way, so who better answer your phone call than Gladys?

There are no hard days in the office; she says that being of service becomes more manageable when you have a light-bulb personality like hers. A typical office day involves her online answering queries and making hotel reservations.

She is also involved in booking your flights, explaining our company operations, and streamlining everything to make your safari a success. Her likes? Gladys enjoys organizing.

Lydiah Mwangi

Safari Consultant

Describing herself as a decorated travel journalist is her attempt at modesty, but truth be told, her writing abilities could turn the devil into a saint. Lydiah has been with us for five years now, an interaction that has grown her as a writer and travel expert.

To attest to this are the countless local travel magazines and guide books on which her works have been featured. She lives for travel and enjoys, to a greater extent, capturing the county's beauty through her skilled lens.

This passion has seen her to countries such as Mexico, Italy, France, America, and the Dominican Republic.

Harrison Kamau

International Tour Specialist

No one’s more deserving of planning your trip than an enthusiastic outdoor lover. The adjectives cheerful and ardent best describe Harrison. He has been with us for five years but had eight years of experience in the Ministry of Tourism before joining us.

He explains the county’s landscape with so much precision and detail you would instantly fall in love with it. On your list of why to love him, add that he has a great sense of humor and is a joy to have around.

He loves traveling around the country and meeting new people.

Eva Njogu

Safari Writer/Consultant

‘To watch my clients fall in love with the country as much as I am. There’s nothing as gratifying as that.’ Meet Eva, the lady redefining travel in his little way. She has been with us for nearly six years and has been involved with nearly 100 tours and safaris.

There’s little about the country that this lady does not know, and that which she knows, she makes sure you hear about it through our website. Like all our safari consultants, she is fun to have around, and she prides herself in knowing she did all she could to ensure you had a fantastic experience in Kenya.

When not traveling or writing, which is rare, she enjoys a travel journal over a glass of wine.
