Later in the day, you’ll begin your Kenya adventure with a visit to the Giraffe Center within Nairobi. This Nairobi tour package is an opportunity to interact with these gentle giants and feed them from your palm’s hand! Kindly note that you can head to Lake Naivasha and visit Crescent Island on day one instead of staying in Nairobi.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru & Game Drives at Lake Nakuru National Park

On the second day of your Nairobi, L. Nakuru, and the Maasai Mara Packages, you’ll venture out of Nairobi to the lake. The aim is to start early after breakfast as the drive is a 2.5-hr road trip.

This drive will see you make a stopover at the Great Rift Valley Point before continuing with the drive to Lake Nakuru. Here you will visit L. Nakuru National Park, a haven for flamingoes. This park has a lively disposition all year round, and you will be able to see birds and animals.

Aside from flamingoes, it hosts birds and other aquatic animals. Even more interesting is that the park has leopards and lions apart from the aquatic life – travelers might see the leopard on a good day.

The park also lets you see the endangered Rothschild Giraffes and the Black and White Rhinos! You also enjoy one of several natural waterfalls in the park!

Day 3:Transfer to Masai Mara & Afternoon Game Viewing in the Reserve

On the third day of the Nairobi, L. Nakuru, and the Masai Mara holiday packages, you’ll leave Nakuru right after breakfast for a 3 days tour in Maasai Mara. It is a long road trip that takes about 5-hrs.

On this six-hour trip, you shall stop at Narok town to stretch your leg as you still have 3-hr to cover. We advise you to shop for any items of a personal nature in Narok, as from then on, you shall be heading into the wild.

If you are staying inside the reserve, the guide shall stop for a few minutes at the gate to settle the entrance fees with the wardens. Our Masai Mara Safari Packages Cost is comprehensive and designed to offer you a hassle-free experience.

Once in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, interaction with the wildlife begins as you head to your accommodation. The safari guide will leave you there to take lunch, rest for a while, and then head out for an afternoon game drive.

Masai Mara Safari and Serengeti Tour Guide

Masai Mara National Reserve is like stepping into a National Geographic magazine. The rolling savannah, wild animals roaming freely, and the Maasai community living in traditional manyattas make the Masai Mara a highly sought-after destination for safari tours.

Masai Mara National Park Tour Guides

To have a successful safari to Masai Mara, it’s important to have a knowledgeable and professional guide. Our safari guides are well-trained, with years of experience in Masai Mara National Reserve and the surrounding Serengeti region.

Our knowledgeable guide will help you spot animals, share educational information about wildlife, and ensure your safety during the safari tour. They also have intimate knowledge of Maasai culture and traditions.

Serengeti National Park Vs. Masai Mara National Park

The Masai Mara & Serengeti have vast savannah plains filled with diverse wildlife, but there are also some notable differences.

Serengeti National Park is larger, at over 12,000 square miles, compared to Masai Mara’s 1,510 square miles. While Masai Maraolds the Great Migration – where 1.5 million wildebeest and zebra migrate through the park – Serengeti also has unique migration patterns for gazelles, elephants, and other animals.

Masai Mara tends to have more permanent water sources throughout the year, making it a good destination for safari tours.

Best Time for Serengeti Safaris and Masai Mara Tours

The best time for safaris to Masai Mara & Serengeti is during the dry season, between July and October. This is also when you’ll have the best chance of seeing the Great Migration, with wildebeest and zebra crossing rivers in search of fresh grazing grounds.

Between November and June, the wet season can offer excellent safari experiences but may be hindered by heavy rains and muddy roads.

When you visit Masai Mara or Serengeti, our experienced guide will ensure a memorable and safe safari experience.

The Masai Mara Serengeti Safari Ecosystem

The Masai Mara & Serengeti ecosystem is a diverse and intricate web of life, with predators like lions and cheetahs hunting for prey like wildebeest and zebras, while giraffes graze on acacia trees and elephants eat grass.

The Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra migrate through the Masai Mara & Serengeti, is a prime example of the interdependency of animals and their environment.

The Maasai people have lived in the Masai Mara & Serengeti region for centuries, coexisting with wildlife and managing their land sustainably.

Maasai Mara Wildlife

Many animals are found in the Masai Mara National Reserve, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and more. The Masai Mara is also known for its abundant birdlife, with over 450 species recorded in the park.

Some of the birds found in the Masai Mara are eagles, vultures, marabou storks, ostriches, and secretary birds.

The big 5 as well as the cats of the Mara, are also a major attraction for safari-goers, with the park being known as the “land of lions.” In addition to its large lion population, Masai Mara is also home to the highest density of cheetahs in Africa.

Hippos often cool off in rivers and waterholes, while elephants roam the grasslands for food. Masai Mara is also a popular destination for spotting rare black rhinos.

Here are some vital facts about the animals in the Maasai Mara:

  • Masai Mara has the highest density of cheetahs in Africa.

Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration

Hailed as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World, the Wildebeest Migration in the Masai Mara is a must-see for any safari enthusiast. From July to October, the migration sees over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles journey across the grasslands in search of fresh grazing grounds.

The dry season (July to October) brings limited food and water, causing the wildebeest to embark on a search for greener pastures. The migration follows rainfall patterns, with the animals traveling back and forth between Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

Migration viewing is best in the central and western parts of Masai Mara, where our 6 Days Masai Mara package includes a 3 days stay at a luxury lodge in this prime location to witness this event.

Masai Mara Migration - The Predictors

The predators of the migration include crocodiles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and African wild dogs. These skilled hunters use tactics to take down a wildebeest or zebra for their next meal.

The Great Migration brings opportunities for photographing these predator-prey interactions in the jungle.

The Mara River Crossing

The crossing of the Mara River is a dangerous feat for these animals. Crocodiles lurk in the waters, waiting to ambush their next meal.

The wildebeest and zebras use their numbers to protect themselves from predators during the crossing, with some losing their lives.

But witnessing this natural event is a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed on your Masai Mara safari package.
